Ember Marr plays Chris' sister, Dayna, in The Box. Director, Zach Schuyler, met Ember at the local coffee house downtown by where he works. He used to come in every afternoon and she would give him grief about his poor attitude. When the time came to cast for the role of Dayna, Zach immediately thought of Ember. He went to the coffee house and asked her if she would be in his movie and she looked at him as if he were a deranged serial killer but hesitantly agreed. Since then, Schubro Production has received nothing but great performances from her. Thank goodness she said yes.

Janet Austin plays an employee of Chris at his antique store. She is the first person in the movie to be attacked by thing from the box. Janet rose to the challenge of being of the first person to be attacked even though it was her first time acting in a film. Janet's bubbly personality lends itself to the character. Janet would probably have been driven insane by the constant takes without it.
